Practice Owner | Occupational Therapist | Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT)
Megan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in 2017. Since qualifying, she has gained extensive clinical experience across a range of rehabilitation settings, with particular expertise in hand therapy, upper limb rehabilitation, functional capacity evaluations and work-related rehabilitation.
Her clinical experience includes the rehabilitation of complex hand and upper limb injuries, tendon and nerve injuries, fractures, burns, and occupational injuries. She has a strong interest in assessing the impact of injury and illness on an individual's functional abilities, work capacity and ability to participate in everyday activities.
Megan has a particular focus on functional capacity evaluations, work assessments and return-to-work rehabilitation. She conducts assessments to evaluate an individual's physical, cognitive and functional abilities in relation to the demands of their occupation. Her work includes identifying functional limitations, providing recommendations regarding work capacity and workplace adaptations, and supporting informed decision-making around return to work, alternative duties and ongoing rehabilitation. She works with patients, medical practitioners, employers and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate appropriate rehabilitation and work-related outcomes.
As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), Megan also specialises in the management of lymphoedema and other oedema-related conditions, providing medical and post-operative lymphatic rehabilitation.
Megan established her own occupational therapy practice in November 2023, with a commitment to providing individualised, evidence-informed care that addresses each patient's functional needs and rehabilitation goals. She values a multidisciplinary approach and works closely with medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes.
